Black Cherry- 25 seedling bundle
Black Cherry, Prunus serotina.
A large, native tree found in the Midwest and throughout the eastern United States. The showy white flowers appear as pendulous clusters in early spring, followed by dark, pea-sized fruits in late summer. The mature bark is dark and scaly, often flipping up on the edges. Aromatic tree; crushed foliage and bark have distinctive cherry-like odor and bitter taste. Wonderful for attracting wildlife, especially birds. Mature trees may reach 50-80 feet tall. Hardiness zones 3-9. Ideally, black cherry trees enjoy full sun exposure, but can tolerate part-shade.
NOTE: Trees arrive in bundles of 25 seedlings that are aprox. 12-18 inches tall. Trees are NOT full-sized upon pick-up. Photos show full-sized examples of the species.
