Nannyberry, Viburnum lentago
Nannyberry is a multi-stem, suckering shrub that can reach 20'. Multiple shrubs, placed 8-12' apart, could make a nice hedge when mature. The white flowers have no noticeable scent but attract numerous pollinators in the early spring months when not much else is flowering. By fall, redish purple berries hang heavily and are a favorite of birds and other wildlife. This fruit is edible and is often used to make jam. Prefers full sun/part shade. Zones 2-7.
NOTE: Shrubs arrive in bundles of 25 seedlings that are approx. 12-18 inches tall. Shrubs are NOT full-sized upon pick-up. Photos show full-sized examples of the species.
ALL ORDERS MUST BE PICKED UP FROM THE RACINE COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS IN APRIL 2026- NO ORDERS WILL BE SHIPPED TO YOU!
